Name is a gift from parents to their child.
And I believe it filled with hopes and prayers.
When my parents gave me the name Astrid, they just simply wanted to merge their names. Both of them has the word "love" on their names. It said in different languages and synonims. And has meaning in English as "Love rules!".
I wasn't too fond of my name. To me it sounds so feminine, elegant and mature. Not cool enough. So I prefer people called my nickname. Even if my parents called me Astrid, there's gotta be something wrong and we needed some serious talks.
Moving to Belgium changed my thoughts.
Here I feel like royalty.
Most Belgians would quickly noticed the relations of my name. And for others, I proudly tell the fact that I'm sharing the same name with the Princess and beloved late Queen of Belgium.
I sometime amaze how powerful a prayer could be.
Now I'm here in Belgium.
I'm sure my parents didn't expect it when they named me.

Thank you Mom and especially Dad for giving me such a beautiful name.
I love you!
