Le Petit Fric

It's been more than a week already and I'm craving for home food.
Something tasty and spicy.
The closer I can get is Vietnamese food.

We found this little restaurant coincidentally. Only few meters away from the Grand Place.
The decor wasn't promising. But me and Prince Charming thought to give it a try.

This family run restaurant showed its charm when we greeted by the man who owns it. He's very friendly and can speak English. His wife working alone in the kitchen and their 5-year old daughter Cathy would sit on one of the chair with the guests, drawing or asking things.

There are only around 5 tables. And we usually come early because it usually got busy later on.

The welcome snack is simple. They give few pieces of rice crackers while we're looking at the menu.

I'd say the soup is the best. It's really comforting, esp. for the Belgian weather. We love the Pho. But my personal favorite is Laksa. It tastes very rich from the coconut milk. I could finish it and cleaned my bowl. The soup is around 5 EUR and it's a perfect portion for me. But if still hungry, we usually shared the Canard à l'Orange (roasted duck with orange sauce and served with steamed rice).

This restaurant easily became our favorite.
I guess it's one of the cheapest restaurant in Mons esp. for Asian cuisine.

In less than 20 EUR for both, it leaves us very full. We can hardly walk home.
So in typical cold and rainy days in here, this place makes a warm escape.
