This is probably the most popular fast food
joint in Europe. They’re easily found almost in every cities. For about 4-5 EUR
we can enjoy the meaty treat (grilled on horizontal
rotating skewers). The sliced spit-roasted meat typically served as a
kind of sandwich or wrapped in a flatbread, topped with an abundance mixed
salad (lettuce, tomato, onions, cabbage etc). To suit local taste, in Belgium it is also served with frites
and different kind of sauces for maximizing taste effects, from the tasty
barbecue to spicy samurai.
My personal favorite is Durum, a wrap filled
with grilled meat (I prefer lamb), salad and sauce. We usually go grab it around Rue Léopold II (near the main bus
station at Place Léopold) and Rue de la Clef (near Grand Place).
