The Town Hall of Mons.
It was called the “House of Peace”. The only one built in Gothic style in Wallonia.
The symbol of communal autonomy and jewel of the Grand Place, and houses many administrative services.
The Mayor's Chamber contains a collection of masterpieces of Mons silversmiths, as well as tapestries dating from the 17th century. These tapestries were actually a gift to the town from Louis XIV, the King of France, after the siege of 1691.
This building underwent various changes during the 15th century. There were many restorations and additions of elements from other buildings, and somehow until now it still incomplete.
