The train station, on progress

New paving, Rue des Fripiers

Les Grands Prés, February 2015
Very much surprised when finding half of the shopping mall area were destroyed. There will be IKEA at the end of the construction work. It's going to be busy in the once-a-quiet-suburb with 8 millions visitors expected will be coming from neighbouring towns (and those who live in France, close to the borders) within an hour drive, with new exit from the highway.

The town of Mons is slowly changing, and undergoing a major facelift.
During the renovation projects, I found the town becoming less attractive, and it affects a lot of people.
Heard lots of complains.
It’s messy.
Dirty.
Noisy.
Different route for the free buses because particular area and some roads inaccessible.
New façade for some buildings.
New paving on the roads.
The biggest project would be.. the new train station, even it won’t be finish in 2015. It will be bigger and modern, giving easy acess to the old town center and 'new town' complex of the Les Grands Prés area.
