A visit to the new exhibition space, Magasin de Papier at 26, rue de Clé.
Nostalgia
with our childhood. It’s one of our interesting school project back then when
we assigned to place a mung bean in a plastic cup based with wet cotton and
watched it grow into sprout.
For 10
years, the work of Caroline Léger (artist-photographer) was oriented around textile
and vegetable. She led her first ephemeral installations from textile, seeds
and water. The artist imagines each of her creations by place, time or season. The observation of the cycle of life,
from the germination of a seed to rot the plant, is the engine of her work. Photography allows her to keep the
memory. Researcher at heart, Caroline Léger constantly experimenting on living
plant. In 2014, she explores the
color of harvested plant in the garden or along the roads. On light fabrics, she realizes
delicate impressions will fade gradually under the bite of light, fleeting traces
of existence.
