This summer we’re blessed with good weather. Seriously we
finally have a real summer in Belgium. Bright blue sky, warm (sometimes even
too hot!) and stays for months. This is great especially during the Mons 2015,
European Capital of Culture. Since there are so many interesting events, people
are keep coming. The main hang out area, the Grand Place never look this busy especially
with nocturne events happening until midnight. The outdoor terrace of every
restaurants packed with people. Some are here to be part of the festivities and
others might just want to enjoy the moment. Of course it’s good for business.
We never thought finding a table in a restaurant at the
Grand Place would be a challenge during our stay in this town. Until this
Friday night with the event “Night at the Museum”.
It was pretty late for dinner, around 9 pm. Normally most
restaurants are open until 10 pm. So we’re a bit worry if we still can order a
meal. In fact we needed to wait for 10 minutes before seated.
Chose this restaurant because we want something simple. The
menu offers classic and well-known Italian dishes and the price is slightly
cheaper than Italian restaurants we’ve been to in Belgium. That’s why this
place easily becomes one of favorites amongst locals and visitors.
He ordered a salami pizza and I had a fresh spaghetti with
tomato sauce, rucola and parmesan. Both are good, even it felt unusual having the
pasta which somehow taste like udon. Overall it’s a nice dinner experience, tonight
accompanied by an entertaining live band.
