Cup Pasta

I noticed this new place at the shopping street during Doudou (last weekend of May) 2018.

Five days later I gave it a try.

At 12.15 during lunch time on the first working day after Doudou holiday in Mons, it was almost full of people. More than a dozen. But surprisingly service was super fast, whether to dine in (indoor/ outdoor seating) or take out.

Actually not a new concept (opened the first time in Belgium since 2016) but this chain with few other outlets around Brussels offers no frills type of meal. Pasta in a box, just like Chinese takeout with oyster pail as packaging (mostly around here they put pasta in styrofoam cup).

Menu starts from 2.80 EUR for the small box (100 g). The next step, choose the pasta, sauce and extras. Payment card/ cash.

Mine was small fusili with spicy cheddar sauce (the archiduc wasn’t available that day) and had to pay 1 EUR more for this special sauce. Then the woman who took my order handed me the number and asked to wait. Just when I turned my back around, she called and my pasta box was ready.

Since the weather was so nice (not too hot), I headed up to the Belfry’s garden.
My pasta still felt very warm even after I walked around a bit to get there.

Honestly I didn’t find the pasta nor the sauce like an artisan or homemade like those in restaurants (of course, with the price, don’t expect too much). The size was perfect for me and sauce so cheesy with a hint of paprika.

This is seriously great for a quick and cheap bites. An alternative to a cone of frites.
