I was recommended this traiteur/ catering service since the very beginning in Mons.
On March 23, 2019 I
wasn’t in the mood for a dine out, too lazy to cook dinner either. So
after a few visit and didn’t manage to buy anything over these
years, I decided to try the lasagna.
They offer
a range of fresh pasta, meats, Italian cheeses and desserts. We pay what we get
by weight.
I asked for a portion of
lasagna and agreed when shown how big the box for a single portion. Then asked
again how big the piece I wanted before finally cut it and put it in an
aluminium container. Each portion around 500 grams of salmon lasagna (16.99EUR/
kg) and spinach with Parma ham lasagna (10.99EUR/ kg). At first glance, the choices of pasta weren't convincing. Until different sauces
generously poured on top of it. I was lucky to get the last piece of
Tiramisu (10.50/kg).
At home, the lasagna
needed to be reheated in the oven (180°) for 20 minutes.
The moment of truth.
My initial reaction was: OMG! Sooo GOOD! Seriously.
Probably the best lasagna ever! Oh the texture of fresh pasta.. and the taste. It might looked so simple but actually very special. Tiramisu
wasn’t as good as expected.
Update: back for lunch and had a pasta box.
Simple formula: fresh pasta+sauce approx. 3EUR/ fresh stuffed
pasta+sauce approx. 5EUR.
I had tagliatelle with champignon and Parma ham cream sauce topped with
cheese (3.94EUR).
A nice warm lunch in a cold spring.
Really tasty and well seasoned. Generous amount of chunky meat, smaller
bites of champignon and thick cheese. Perfect portion.
I would say Chez Theo more like a restaurant-quality and comforting as a home cooked meal, not just pasta on the go. Love!
