I would say the most delightful moment living in Mons happen around the
feast of Doudou.
I know, Doudou is not everyone’s cup of tea. But for me.. this is the
time when the town looks so vibrant. I just love the energy.
Starting few weeks before the event, the Montois proudly adorned their
place with Doudou related decorations. Neighbours put the red-white municipal
flag of Mons in front of their place. The green dragon, the true icon of Doudou came in different shapes and styles. Sold
as a primary product from cake to board game.
I am stunned by the creativity and effort. And I can sense how special Doudou
for everyone in this town. It’s huge and meaningful. Not just an annual event, but it's their
way of keeping the traditions which defines this town and its
people.
