Chez Tonton

A late post.
I’ve been coming back to this place 2-3 times ever since our friend Alban recommended on Christmas holiday 2016. Located few meters away across our long time favorite friterie, Chez Bily.

The first time I had lunch here with Prince Charming was around May 2017. We had to wait for a table while ordering our meals. Service was friendly eventough we have to wait a bit to get our orders.
This is not an average friterie, more like an upscale one with good ambiance. Small place with only 4 tables.

I had vegetarian burger (5.40EUR) and his was fish burger (5.70EUR), with frites (included).
Both super good!
Buns was not soft like used in most friterie or fast food chain, more like a brioche made by an artisan boulanger.
The most important thing, patties taste so good! Not like frozen products. Still can taste the crunch from the breadcrumbs and not soggy or oily at all. The vegetarian one more like mashed vegetables, but the fish is my favorite. Not like frozen fish sticks. Really fresh and meaty. Frites look and taste nice with a touch of chili powder (they also put this powder on the table, just in case we need more).  The quality of the food is really well worth the wait.

They also made huge efforts for the presentation. From wooden tray to forks, even they create and print out packaging cone for the frites. And give us wet tissue to use after meal.

Remember to bring cash, they don’t accept bank card.
